Lie #2: There are Many Ways to God: Lies of the Enemy Series

With Islam, okay, quick history lesson here.

Islam traces its ancestry all the way back to Abraham and Sarah in the book of Genesis in the Bible and Abraham's son, Ishmael.

God promised Abraham and Sarah a son, but they kind of got tired of waiting.

They decided to take matters into their own hands by Abraham getting his servant pregnant instead of Sarah.

And Ishmael was the result.

He wasn't God's plan A. God's actual promise was to Isaac, the son that was later to be born to Abraham and Sarah.

Muslims believe Muhammad, the actual founder of Islam, was a descendant of Ishmael.

Pretty crazy, right? But the religion itself doesn't actually start until thousands of years later in the year 610 AD when Muhammad says an angel started giving him messages that later became the Quran.

Muslims believe in one God, Allah, and Jesus? Just a prophet, not God.

Here's where it gets interesting though.

Islam actually teaches that Jesus was a true prophet who never lied.

Sounds good, right? But Islam also teaches that the Bible has been corrupted, that we can't trust what it says.

Kind of confusing.

I mean, 610 AD, that's way after Jesus died.

So how can everything he said be true, but yet where his words were written is corrupted? So when Jesus says, I'm the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, Islam has to say, well, that's not really what he said.

That got added later.

You can't call someone a truthful prophet and then throw out the one thing he actually claimed about himself.

That's not consistency.

That's picking and choosing what you believe.

And when it comes to actually getting into heaven or paradise or whatever you want to call it, nobody in Islam knows for sure if they can make it.

You die and you hope that your good deeds outweigh your bad ones on some cosmic scale.

No certainty, no assurance, just wishful thinking.
