Justin WongHostuh speaking of uh fun a lot of fun happening in the tampa never sleeps a virtual fighter 5 revo tournament that sega was uh promoting and max was hosting i caught the grand finals so i miss uh some of the action from earlier but uh that that gene huh that

gene the goat like apparently he did the same thing in previous tournaments as well just like tore it up you know and I heard from the VF heads at the end when he was like oh him a jeans the one that people called him a Japanese import because he's from Canada so it's like oh this Canadian dudes amazing and it's like oh he's actually a JP player technically is a Japanese import so it's like he's playing on a crazy ass level when all these other players are playing on a crazy ass level
Yeah, and he was like when I when I tuned in, I was like, who the fuck is this? Like, I'm like, I don't know a ton about Gene.

and make himself mad plus at the end of it or lead to big counter hit states or stun states and stuff so it's like he's a naturally very like easy to use and oppressive character I know because I started with him when Ultimate Showdown came out and I'm like oh my god this guy's so easy to use holy hell like this stuff just works it's nuts
um the the the weird thing is that uh i saw some people that still in chat that still didn't like why are there teching characters and i guess sega did not advertise that tech and collaboration pack all that much because people thought there were mods and i thought that was that was funny

I think you said that this is the biggest online Virtua Fighter 5 tournament that has ever existed.

So the whole idea behind this is that Sega came to me and they're like, we really want to push VF5 Revo on PC.

So like, what ways can we do it? I'm like, well, I've run this tournament series for a while.

And, you know, the whole point of it is to actually highlight games that aren't like the forefront of the community, ones that are not like the shining beacon, top three, top four, top five games that always get viewership and stuff.

And I personally told them Virtual Fighter is the shining definition of it because it is a community that has been playing the same thing for like 15 years.

Not every fighting game is going to be a forever fighting game for what we know as the fighting game community.
