But let's bring us back to the Impossible Planet and the Satan Pit, and I'll put my cards on the table first.

I loved Series 1, 2005 series.

to the extent that I could get it in the States because there was no TV distribution deal in 2005.

So I had to acquire the episodes through slightly under the table means.

And I wasn't often able to watch them until the next day, but then I could watch them over and over again.

So the first series absolutely adored.

The second series was the first moment that I started to question my new series fandom.

I enjoyed watching, Rise of the Cybermen.

But the Age of Steel was the first new series episode that I watched where I really wasn't jazzed about it and I really didn't care how it finished.

And I believe the following week was The Idiot's Lantern, which was the first episode of New Who that I didn't want to finish at all.

Really rubbed me the wrong way.

And then the following week comes The Impossible Planet.

And for me, this was peak New Who.

Although perhaps I'm showing my colors when I say that because it is such a traditional classic series story in so many ways with the base under siege um one character getting killed off after another in a small cast and that is especially clear in the novelization where the author directly quotes from fury from the deep among other base under siege stories so i loved impossible planet two pieces satan pit part two i don't know if i thought that it stuck the landing as well as part one had set up but When I think of my favorite new series stories, Impossible Planet is still pretty high on the list.

So I signed up to be the trap on host for the novelization without having read the book.

And we'll learn over the next 45 minutes what I thought of the book.

So Jan, in 2006, how did the Impossible Planet and the Satan Pit strike you?

I remember liking at least the first part.

Because I'm I first of all, I like a lot of the people just like I'm a big fan.

So I knew a lot of the actors like Danny Webb and Claire Rushbrook and Sean Parks, who's one of my favorite actors.

He's he was learning to play the captain, Zach.

And so that kind of drew me in.

And I liked the base under siege.

Try that again.

I liked the base under siege concept of it, like old school Doctor Who.
