Behind the DM Screen (June 2026)

So I'll start off talking about my game.

Last time we recorded behind the damn screen.

Were you here for that one? I think

I was, if I remember

correctly.

No, we actually had Mike and Sam last time.

So you were here two months ago, but not last month.

So you may not be hip to what I'm up to these days.

I talked about running a session zero for a new campaign last month.

Oh, yeah.

I started my Spelljammer campaign.

And I started it with the Spelljammer Academy campaign.

sort of, I don't know, free on D&D Beyond published adventure that's sort of a prequel to Light of Zerixus, which is the campaign that was published with the Spelljammer box set.

Box set? I don't know.

Three books in a sleeve.

It wasn't really a box set.

Whatever you want to call it.

And so we ran...

So it's interesting.

Spelljammer Academy and Light of Zerixus are set up to be...

Each chapter or each part of the adventure is assumed to be one session.

So Spelljammer Academy is four parts, and the assumption is that you run each part for one session, and you level up after each part.

So by the end of it, they're level five.

So that then they're ready to go.

That's part of the issue with Light of Xerxes.
