Beholder

He's like Beholder, whoever.

The kings and queens.

Oh, like his crew.

It is one of D&D's unique or original monsters.

All right, so this is my thought as Beholder.

Now, that is just a hunch, Jess.

We talk about Beholders a lot.

It's definitely not a mimic.

It might be like a gelatinous cube.

I want to say gelatinous cube.

I don't think Beholders is right.

Like, um, the one elf she mentions, I think that she would, and I had to calculate this in the D and D lore.

The elves don't, live quite as long as they do in lord of the rings but even so she said she was like 234 or something that would still kind of make her a child um she would have been like like maybe a teenager you know um probably, maybe just old enough to go, I mean, it's been, like I said, it's been a while, but I, it's little things like the Beholders, okay? They had Beholders floating around, just floating around, just doing their thing, like they were some kind of, like, hot air balloons.

Beholders were, other than dragons, Beholders and the Illithids.

Put a pin in that, okay? And I promise the nerding is almost over.

Beholders are one of the most feared creatures in Lord of the Rings.

I did it again.

And the closest I could come to it, based on lore, is that they have creatures that they call Mind Flayers.

I remember that that was.

So Beholders, really, really cool monster.

The Beholder, unlike a lot of monsters in D&D, is actually an original creation for the game.

So Rob Kuntz and Terry Kuntz were a pair of brothers who worked with Gary Gygax on some of the original D&D material.

And we're heavily involved with Greyhawk, which was the expansion that your second track, the shop theme, came from.

So Greyhawk debuted in 1975 and with it debuted a monster called a Beholder, which was designed by Terry Koontz and then updated by Gary Gygax for the game.

And the Beholder is so iconic in D&D that when Wizards of the Coast released some of its, a lot of D&D's material under open game license where other games could sort of take and adapt and tweak and change monsters from D&D for their games, Beholders were not included in that.

Beholders are a trademark of D&D and they're pretty protective of them.

So those two.

So then what did I add to them? Well, I added, so the Ring of Telekinesis is on Beholder, and then Hawkeye, I didn't give any equipment to, and I'll come back to why I didn't do that.

Next thing I'm going to have is Mr. Sinister at 50, and the reason why I go with Mr. Sinister, because I love his clone ability.

I think Dad could be big on this, so I give him the clone ability.

So why not give him something that he can change around? So there.

So we got Mr. Sinister with the TK.

Creatures such as purple worms, umber hulks, and zorn burrow tunnels through earth and stone in search of minerals and prey.

Beholders disintegrate columns of stone.

Dwarves, gnomes, and other races mine for gold, jewels, and other precious treasures.

They reroute subterranean rivers and transform the realm through feats of engineering.

Aboleth have no natural predators and are greatly feared by other Underdark races.

These piscean monsters view all other intelligent creatures as either food or slaves.

Beholders, also known as Eye Tyrants, number among the most notorious inhabitants of the Underdark.

Few creatures in the multiverse are as loathed and feared as these maniacal horrors.

And so you can show up and you can roll a D20 and you get a discount if you manage a 20.

But they also have, I think I got a, did I get the Dryad? But all their drinks are named things like the Dryad, the Beholder, the Lich, whatever.

Unfortunately, all the cool undead ones are all Pepsi based.

I think it might have been Sierra Mist.

There's going to be something that you haven't thought of and they're going to throw something in the works and you're going to have to be ready to improvise.

And it's one of the reasons I really enjoy Beholders.

I haven't actually got a chance to use them very often.

But in the lore of Beholders, they say they spend every waking moment of every day thinking about their own contingency plans and their own escape plans.

And they are the epitome of paranoia.

And they're always thinking about ways that they could possibly be outdone.
