The Something to Say Radio Show – August 8th, 2026

Well, we're getting awful close to football season and we've actually had an NFL preseason game already.

The Hall of Fame game, which happened on Thursday night.

But more importantly, around all of that is, of course, today.

Our guy, Drew Brees, will be going into the Football Hall of Fame and, of course, well, well-deserved.

And we're going to talk a lot about Drew today because it's important.

You know, without a doubt, the most important sports figure in New Orleans history, I would say.

I don't think there's any two ways around that.

I don't think there's anyone who would disagree with that statement.

And it's exciting.

I heard the other day someone say that with the pandemic and the way Drew had to end his career, we never really got to say goodbye to him.

So it's been, you know, kind of nice this week to be able to give Drew his flowers and show the appreciation and the love that we didn't get to do in a sold-out dome.

So, of course, you know, like I said, well-deserving of being a first ballot Hall of Famer.

He owns almost, I think he owns all of the passing records that he had for the Saints franchise previously.

NFL milestones.

He led the league in passing seven times, led the NFL in completion percentage six times, touchdowns four times, led the league in passer rating twice.

You know, when he retired, he was the all time leading passer and all time leading in touchdown passes as well.

Of course, Tom Brady had to stick around a little bit longer and and he now has the top spot.

But just a fabulous career.

And, you know.

Well, I'll give my two cents at the end of the show, but I wanted to play a couple clips, which we don't normally do a whole lot of, but we're going to play some today.

And the first clip is what Drew was looking forward to this weekend, celebrating this group of Hall of Famers with Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri and Roger Craig.

So here's what Drew has to say.
