Teenager Takeover: Midterm Madness

And, oh boy, do I have... quite a few interesting things that i found um i'm sure devon has a list of stuff uh i have big news on flock but we're gonna save that for later in this show first things first i want to bring up the very very serious thing um The U.S. is now using Xbox controllers to use their weapons of I don't know if I should say weapons of mass destruction, but different weapons.

Apparently they they're using Xbox controllers.

I'm serious.

Xbox video game controllers to control infrared lasers that they're using against Iran and to shoot down like drones and missiles and stuff and why well apparently there was someone someone in the military um said why reinvent the wheel when a specialized control with a specialized control system when you can just use an xbox controller I'm sure using a video game controller instead of making a normal control system has never worked for, or has never gone wrong for anyone, specifically for people who were making, like, a homemade diving submarine to go look at the Titanic.

Devin, what was that? What was the name of that? I don't remember.

I believe

Ocean Gate or something.

Uh... was the name of that and yeah that kind of did go wrong i don't know if that's the reason it went wrong but it wasn't that's not the reason

it went wrong but it's an example of the shoddy worksmanship of this submarine which for people who don't know what we're talking about a handful of years ago like four years ago give or take there was a group of Probably not billionaires, but really rich people and influencers.

It might have been like around six of them, six to ten.

Basically, they had a homemade submarine kind of thing, and they were going to go and explore the Titanic using this thing.

and needless to say it didn't seem very reliable they didn't even make like a control it was controlled this submarine that people's they were putting their lives in trust of the submarine was controlled by a jerry-rigged i think that was a playstation controller some video game controller i'm pretty sure it was playstation so that kind of tells you the uh how well designed it was and it ended up imploding and killing everyone inside

The passengers of the doomed Titanic sub spent their last moments in total darkness looking for bioluminescent creatures out of the small window and listening to their favorite music.

The new details of the five passengers' final moments have been revealed by the wife and mum of the father-son duo, Shazada and Suleiman Darwood, who both died when the sub imploded deep under the ocean.

Speaking to the New York Times, Christine Darwood explained her family's obsession with the Titanic wreckage, which culminated in two of them on board the fatal trip.

It was originally meant to be Christine who was going to head down with her billionaire husband, but after the initial trip was delayed by the pandemic, their 19-year-old son was old enough to go on the trip, so he took their place instead.

But now our government's doing the same thing to control military weapons.

I don't know how secure a Xbox controller is, but if they can hook up an Xbox controller to connect something.

Devin, do you know anything about controllers? Do you know if someone can like, I don't know, wirelessly control the controller and then like hack in and then all of a sudden they have control over whatever the weapon it's attached to?

Probably

not

unless they're really close, because I would presume it used a Bluetooth signal, which they probably did something

to make it more secure.

I think I hope

I'm not an expert in this, Ethan.
