New Kits, New Striker, Same Questions

We've had a lot of Republic news since we've been able to get out any information or content um starting with the biggest one i think was probably the cal jennings signing that occurred uh right after the last podcast went out um and that was huge news um with cal he's for those of you who don't know um although i'm sure you've seen it by now cal is one of the legendary strikers of the usl championship he went to japan after the blast off season where he only made a couple of appearances in japan i believe before coming back over and signing with us now, where he's now subbed on for two appearances.

And I think, Ryan, you actually called this signing as something that we should do at the beginning of the season.

I

did in one of those articles that never quite made it to post.

It was one of those beautiful ideas I had together.

But in the chat, I did talk about it.

I made a list of five players that we should sign in the offseason.

And Cal was the top of the list because the biggest issue we had was goals last season and still kind of this season.

So Cal was the top of the list being such a phenomenal goal scorer.

Of course, before we had the opportunity to scoop him up, he signed for a J3 team, a Japan team.

Yeah, third division.

Yeah, and I think that that was a big loss for the Battery.

I mean, Battery being a team that loses strikers, signs a new one, and just keeps banging in the goals left and right.

But Kyle would have been a great grab for us at the beginning of the season.

And seeing us get him now makes me super excited.

And he's played, I think, came off the bench two times already, already scored a goal.

Really makes me wonder if we had him back in March, where we would be at this point in the season now.

Let's give Kyle Edwards credit for that assist, though.

That was a bicycle...

Assist and I've been I've been workshopping that there is no there's no name out there So this is a real chance for for quail city for us to put our stamp on the broader game of football Globally, my favorite one so far is riding the tandem bicycle um Might be a little bit of a stretch, but like reverse aerial, you know, aerial assist, sky assist.

I don't know what you call what he did.

Was it even a bicycle kick? It was kind of just an over the head like whoop.

I mean, it was it was a thing of beauty, though.

Kyle Edwards.

I might need to admit that I was watching that game, but I was not paying attention to our Quail City chat.
