For starters, I mean, we talked about this a bit last week in terms of this being sort of impending, but the Kelsey Plum trade happened.
I don't think we all thought that was necessarily going to be her destination, although it was hinted as a possibility.
And the Phoenix Mercury talked about how they've been eyeing her for a long time.
And, you know, at first it was kind of a head-scratching move, like, just at a glance, you know, because we were like, well, Phoenix Mercury, like, they feel like maybe they're going to be blowing it up at the end of this season.
And then they get Kelsey Plum, and it's like, I feel like this is such a great way to, like, give this iteration of a team like a last chance or maybe not a last chance.
And then if it doesn't work out, they're obviously going to have like the best chance in free agency because they've already had so much time with her.
So I feel like even if it doesn't work out this season, like for them to make like a last minute, like sort of playoff run, um, I think this is a really good move for them long term
agent next season, but they are going to use this time to convince her why she should stay with them, which I think is a greater advantage than any other organization will have.
So that's a really interesting point because I'll just say my kind of like quick take was that like, what are you doing, Phoenix? And I actually thought that L.A.
LA got Monika Koa Makani, a 2027 first round draft pick, which is like very soon.
And if you think about like where Phoenix might be, that's, that's a serious pick.
