And the thing which I find fascinating about the Niagara Falls, Jack, is you're actually looking at a living, swirling, thundering legacy of the last ice age.

You know, the fact that it was the ice age that created Niagara River, the Great Lakes, and how that river connects Lake Erie with Lake Ontario.

Yeah.

And the other thing which I found quite freaky, most of the water that is thundering over those falls is fossil water.

So...

The backward eating away of the rock has actually shifted the falls 12 kilometres upstream from their original location.

And eventually all of that dolomite and shale will be nibbled away all the way back to Lake Erie.

So in time, there will be no falls.

Did you grow up in the area where you live?

No, I grew up in Dunkirk, New York, which is on Lake Erie,

between Erie, Pennsylvania, and Buffalo.

The Browns suck.

I mean, it's funny because out of the three Lake Erie teams, right? Buffalo, Detroit, and Cleveland.

Buffalo has seen good success the last few seasons.

Detroit has seen great success these last few seasons.

So he packs up and him and Sally leave Canandaigua on June 9th.

They traveled to Kirtland via the Erie Canal over Lake Erie.

When they finally get to Kirtland on June 14th, 1831, he immediately goes to see Joseph Smith, who was then residing northeast of Kirtland on the Morley Farm.

And when William arrives, he told Joseph Smith he was willing to do the will of the Lord and asked Joseph to seek a revelation on his behalf.

What I found amazing was, as you said, he comes home after two years, essentially, and he's broke and he's got this family.

And so what does he do? He goes back onto additional whaling ship, back out in the great wide open, and he survives two more voyages, only to lose his life on Lake Erie.

Right.

Yeah, he was the captain of the schooner of the Pennsylvania on Lake Erie in 1844.

And a storm blew over Lake Erie.

And Lake Erie is like an ocean, you know, major storms.

And the ship sank.

Everybody on board died.

And you think that being a billionaire would keep you from a neighborhood strata drama and homeowners association.

But no, it looks like they're running into some neighbor drama with their new $5.35 million mansion in Cleveland, Ohio, along Lake Erie.

The couple reportedly wanted to install a fence around their property, their waterfront property for privacy.

And the neighbors are not happy with the plans.

They reportedly believe the fence would interfere with their view of Lake Erie.

You know, makes sense.

You know that

Basically.

And the Welland Canal is open in 1824, and it stretches from Port Weller on Lake Ontario to Port Colborne on Lake Erie.

I wasn't super familiar with the geography over there, but if you look at it, it basically just moves across the Niagara Peninsula, and it allows vessels to move into the western Great Lakes from the St. Lawrence River and the ocean and everything.

So it's what really opens up the Great Lakes to be international ports.

And they're doing it again.

A congressman now wants to rename Lake Erie, Lake Pennsylvania.

CTV News says David Maloney is working on a resolution for the Interior Department.

This after U.S. President Trump issued an executive order to rename Lake Ontario.
