The Holy Spirit: Lord, Life-Giver & Mission with Alan Thompson

We're told in Acts 16 that he's prevented by the Holy Spirit

from going into

Asia.

Who would prevent

you from going to cleanse the gospel somewhere? Not only would attribute that

to Satan, but here we're told about the Holy Spirit, the empowering work of the Holy Spirit being sent by the Lord Jesus, enabling his people to bear witness as we move from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria.

So we go out further and further and further.

Local believers who come together, knowing the Lord Jesus, being empowered by the Spirit, that's what the kingdom looks like now.

The Holy Spirit is going to empower God's people to bear witness to God's salvation, and this then is going to go out to the nations.

Well, so Alan Thompson, I teach New Testament at Sydney Missionary and Bible College from New Zealand originally.

So that just shows how gracious and kind they are to allow a New Zealander to teach an Australian college in Sydney.

So that's what I do.
