talked about the opening weekend when we did our review show our estimate was we'd be lucky to break 70 million that proved to be very rosy and in fact the studio initially estimated 69 and then had to revise that down to under 63 meaning they didn't even have a good handle on just how bad it was going to be on sunday well i texted you immediately when i saw that rev i said they're going to revise it down and i said when i saw the revision i said hey you know normally You take the opening weekend, you multiply it by three for like an average movie, and that's your total number.
By all accounts now, the tracking on this total number has dropped to below 175, and the estimated decline for this weekend is north of 70%, which would be one of the worst weekend one to weekend two fall-offs in the history of the genre.
I saw a report from Variety saying that if Supergirl's total box office ended around $200 million, Warner Brothers would stand to lose 100 to 120 million on the film.
