Creature Commandos

And then I got to do the Headless Horseman anthology series with Dark Horse, did the last podcast on the left comic with Z2, got to do Knights versus Samurai with Image, got to do DC Horror Presents where Leah Kirkpatrick and I wrote a story about Dollhouse and Dollmaker.

Got to write the Creature Commandos run for DC.

Been doing a lot of Venom with Marvel.

Which is

So on the DCU timeline, Clayface takes place before the events of Creature Commandos and Superman.

I mean,

is this going to set up a broader DCU? I don't think so.

Or this is legit.

So Creature Commandos, which is a great show.

We've highlighted it.

We did a standalone on it when it came out a while ago.

So Clayface was in one of the episodes, but it takes place way after.

So this is sort of like a prequel version of that Clayface.

Just like we've also saw a real quick Batman in Creature Commandos.

And so we don't know a lot about that Batman, but we know that there's one in that timeline.

Well, here's where it bumped into continuity.

Clayface was in Creature Commandos, the animated series, which is in the James Gunn universe, which also had Rick Flagg Sr., who was also in Superman.

What's his name? Frank Grillo.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

This is where I just get a little bump into stuff.

Was Clayface in Creature Commandos? Yeah.

I did not remember that at all.

Commandos, which is before Peacemaker.

So this is the origin of the Clayface you see in the animated Creature Commandos.

Those are the same character.

Okay.

That's so cool because they're so different.

Like, in terms of, like, vibe.

But then it also, again, when you see this, it makes you think, oh, that's why he acted like that in Creature Commandos.

Like, because, like, there are things he does, like, crazily.

But whenever he started to shape shift, that's where I was like, that took me out of it for a moment until I found out that that is

that is who he is that's why I love this because he is a shapeshifter and it's not just face it's clothing like his powers are actually pretty powerful if you think about it I mean I believe right he was he turned himself into like Bruce Wayne I believe so like he could get away with a lot of things if he truly wanted to and that's why if you watch Creature Commandos that's another great one because he is in that and apparently that is the same Clayface oh

that's what it is that's what I wanted to say um His story, to your point, Michael, about his villain origin story, it's so interesting because you find yourself siding with him.

Isn't that what they call an anti-hero kind of?

John, do you need a sequel? Are you looking for a sequel?

No, I think he will probably pop up here and there in different projects.

And I don't know if he's already said this, but I just imagine this is prior to Creature Commandos because in Creature Commandos, he's fully Clayface at that point.

Cause I think somebody came in and did some rewrites.

Um, He had always expressed interest in directing the project and a lot of people were kind of upset that like there are pieces of like some of the themes and you know some of the scares that he's known for in there and they're wondering why didn't the studio just wait for him for something that would have ideally probably just been like a sure thing like you know it would have been good it would have had legs given his name given his his fan base um and also the fact that that and i'm still not sure of this and maybe i don't know if it's made clear in the movie if this is the same clay face that appears or has already appeared in the dcu in creature commandos
