The Best BACKROOMS Conversation Ever Had (by us)!!

Yo! In this episode, Mikey The Dangerous Maybe and I talk about Backrooms, the film that just hit theatres and seems to have been assembling itself out of disparate bits of online fiction and memes posted on The Chans, Reddit, and Instagram over the last two decades or so. What is it about The Backrooms lore that speaks so loudly to people? We get into Liminality, touch on Phenomenology, consider the Weird and the Eerie, point of the Baudrillard of it all, and more!! Then, we talk about Hyperstition, Hypostition, and Retrostition a bit; and we get into Trump's absurd Aliens.gov affair. Keep your ears peeled and your eyes open for Mikey's book, which will be available SOON! The Hyperstition Zone has A LOT that you're gonna want to read if you enjoyed this conversation! \- The Retrostition essay- https://open.substack.com/pub/nanceee/p/travels-along-the-fault-line-1-long?r=1jl6yq&utm\_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm\_medium=web Don’t miss out on all the stuff going on at Mikey’s Patreon, YouTube channel, and Substack - https://www.patreon.com/thedangerousmaybe https://youtube.com/@TheDangerousMaybe?si=2btoEcN3ta3Dd-V2 https://substack.com/@thedangerousmaybe Make sure to check out Sean's Substack, he's been droppin' some heat! - https://substack.com/@dukesdoswing Three Billion Nances has a Patreon page now too! https://www.patreon.com/nancee and as always, stay tuned for more!!
