You leaner = better surfer?

We've got to bring thoughts on too.

Obviously, there's been a lot of heat where we live here in the UK.

There's been a lot of football worldwide, obviously in America, Mexico and Canada.

So that's been at the forefront of our minds.

Liam, before we get on to surf, has been your take on the football world cup generally soccer should i give you a serious one as well in some way is um because it is interesting to us we do love our sport and we we're surfers but we love sport in general

and we have a lot of listeners in in the states as well so you know thanks for hosting a great tournament so far and

aussies and new zealands you both did well in the world cup as well

brilliant to see really cool and You know, we've been watching, and at point of recording, it's the day of the semi-finals for England and Argentina, a very old rivalry there.

Spain and France played last night.

So if you're listening to this in the future, you may have already concluded the World Cup, and either Spain-Argentina or England-Argentina will have contested a very competitive final.

Let's hope...

For the sake of listening to It's Coming Home, It's Coming Home with Badil and the Lightning Seeds, I think they did it.

Let's hope that England do prevail and slay the ghosts of sort of 86, Mexico 86, and win tonight against Argentina and then win the final against Spain.

Liam, to those who don't know, describe 86.

So 86, in the Azteca Stadium, right, as well, I think it was, the one where England beat Mexico this tournament, was the infamous hand of God, where perhaps the greatest player ever to play football, Diego Maradona, used his hand to score a goal against England, thereby knocking them out of the World Cup 1986.

I was 10 years old.

It was a very memorable tournament as well.

So this is the year, you know, fast forward, what, 40 years? Is it going to be the chance, as Kane faces Messi, for England to actually prevail? And hopefully so, because they seem like a good kind of bunch of guys.

Nobody's bigger than the team, although so far they've been pulled through the tournament by two particularly good players, Bellingham and Kane.

But, you know, it's still a team effort.

There's 11 players on the pitch and it's been really, really good.

It seems like the vibes have been high out there so far.

and um and i'm really you know i'm not that i'm not a fanatical football follower so really just be great to see a brilliant game contested in the spirit of you know sportsmanship and the the way that these international tournaments are supposed to be and it's entertaining you know entertain the crowds indeed um and give people something to cheer about and in the sunshine and They're always great events because they sort of bring the world together and it shows you how if you actually manage it properly and, you know, people get along, then happy days.
