A Conversation on Columbia County’s Growth & Future

Well, you know, you guys have both lived in Columbia County a long time, right? Growing up here, being back here, raising a family here, raising kids here.

This is sort of a general question.

And Alex, maybe I'll start with you.

But Columbia County is a great place to live, right? That everybody talks about.

It's a great place to live, great place to raise your family.

But for you, what does that mean? What does it mean that Columbia County is great?

To me, it means we're good schools, we're a safe community, and just good quality of life.

And to me, that includes parks, recreation, the access to the canal.

We live pretty close to Savannah Rapids.

We have great libraries, just great amenities for families.

So raising three kids and being able to just stay in this community and do stuff a lot, I just think we have a lot of great things that we get to spend our time doing.

Yeah.

Allison?

So Columbia County is home.

That's the first thing that I think that when I think of Columbia County, you know, it's funny when you always come back from vacation or driving back from somewhere and you get to the Columbia County sign.

I always take a big sigh of relief like we're home.

You're back.

We're back.

Yes.

So echoing a lot of what Alex just said, it's just a wonderful place to raise a family.

We have great amenities, like you mentioned, great schools.

We do a lot of forward thinking here in Columbia County.

We like to be leaders in our state and in our country on education.

Several things.

We strive for low property taxes.
