McDuffie County

And I think that the growth continues to move west.

And so that relationship with McDuffie County coming up is going to be huge.

I speak with the chairman of the McDuffie County Board of Commissioners from time to time, Chase Beggs.

He's a great leader.

And so I think it's very important to look at where the growth is and who we're partners with currently, but where also is that growth headed and be ready to partner with those folks as well.

And I think that you do have to look like some of the developments we're looking for.

It's not going to be long before like Aiken and Columbia are just sort of one thing.

And I think that's probably true about Columbia County, McDuffie County.

It's a huge piece for our workforce.

I think I lived through that example with a company that I worked for in McDuffie County.

I don't want to name the company, but it was a startup company, bare building, and we were putting all the machinery layout and so forth.

And Georgia Quick Start came.

We were down in Augusta, in Columbia County, in parts of Aiken County, in Burke County.

I think we made it to McDuffie County, Edgefield County.

We hit all those counties the weekend right after, just looking at the worst of the impacts.

And certainly we were able to tell there was a pretty significant swath of damage that went from parts of Burke County up through Richmond County, right into the Augusta area, Columbia County, and then up right toward Lake Thurman, all had significant damage right in that area there.
