EbonyJanice: "Give Us This Day...Our Daily Bread" | MEDIUM ROAST PODCAST - S2E3

So this is, we are in the express yourself phase of the conversation here.

And so the question, I have so many questions, but I know we're not going to get to all of them, but it's okay.

Because we're going to talk some more.

I was like, this is going to be my friend.

I already know.

So one of the central themes of your work is freedom.

How do you define liberation? And how is it different from simply surviving?

Hmm.

Okay.

Yeah.

Freedom is spaciousness and capacity.

And that is the stark difference between just surviving.

When you are trying to just survive, can you take a deep breath? Can you create space and expand in that reality? In your capacity, you're always doing 19 things in your head.

But freedom is being able to breathe in, deep inhale, fill your lungs, exhale and release.

And then what happens at that release is you get fully seated.

There's a spaciousness in your body, right? There's a spaciousness in your lungs.

You've created space even in your brain to be able to think.

And so spaciousness and capacity, that's my definition of freedom.

And then the survival piece is like, can I expand? What can I even do? It's constantly a question.

Yeah.

That is so good.

So when I in about 20, 2018, I had all these tabs open in my life.

Right.

And I was in New Orleans and I have a tarot reader that's in New Orleans and she was pulling cards and she didn't know it at the time because God kept saying, no, you're going to be a medium and a minister.

And I was like, I don't even know how that's going to work.
