Don't get me wrong, there's a time and a place for an action plan, right? But what I tend to see is people get locked into that action plan as if we know already the path we're going to take and how the implementation will go.

And what I tend to see is people's focus shifts from what I'm striving to achieve to the task in front of me.

And the goal becomes get a smiley face on the action plan, you know, get that task done, when in fact they forget about the future state they're trying to create.
