But speaking of music and concerts and everything, we might as well go ahead and get into new music like we like to do.
I'm sure I mentioned it at some point on here, the great band Sublime, who is now led by Bradley Nowell's son, Jacob, they just put out their first new album, their first full-length album with Jacob as their frontman.
And I wanna say it was the 30-year anniversary of 40 Oz.
to Freedom, I wanna say.
Let me double-check.
Or roughly so.
40 Oz.
to Freedom came out in 1992.
They kinda remixed the cover art for it.
It's all new music, though, no remixes music-wise.
But they just put it out earlier this year, and I know they're touring this right now.
Yeah, I mean, it's, it's a great album, honestly.
It's crazy how much Jacob sounds like his late, great father, Bradley, you know? And speaking of that, just quick sidebar.
On the Wu-Tang show, that was another thing, was ODB obviously passed away a long time ago, so his son, YDB, Young Dirty Bastard, was filling in, doing all his parts.
And he looks like him, sounds like him, acts like him.
So it's crazy how all these things are coming full circle and, you know, sons are stepping into their father's footsteps.
And continuing their musical legacies and, you know, who else better to do it than their own biological sons who sound like them and can, can really do, do the same things, you know? So Sublime's new album is called Until the Sun Explodes, and I'm gonna go ahead and play one of the joints off of here that I was liking.
What do we wanna play? We could play the title track, When the Sun Ex- or Until the Sun Explodes.
[singing] It's such a cold night, and I already know All my friends are gonna be there, but I do not wanna go Now it's been, it's been, it's been, it's been a miserable, miserable night So I roll a hundred cigarettes before I go inside And I take a thousand hits, so I don't make it too far I hear my oldie-dom CD still playing in my car It's a cold night, so believe me when I say it I stop, fall asleep on the pavement Oh, you mean nothing to my mind Huh, 24/7, 369 Dig it now, later, I'm a secret tweaker Like your old lady bad beaver Yeah, you should leave her before she leaves ya You are a bone nun, and it's nice to meet ya One grave, two grave, three graves fine And I hit it with a torch, I don't know why Skeeter give it, give it, give it a microphone And take a bullet straight off base up to the sun, here we go Oh, you mean nothing to my mind Huh, 24/7, 369 Oh, you mean nothing to my mind Fuck, 24/7, 369 Nothing Nothing Oh, you mean nothing to my mind, my mind, in my mind In my mind, in my mind, my mind Till the, till the, till the, till the, till the sun explodes
You know what I mean? So yeah, Sublime's cool 'cause they're, like, not just one genre.
Um, they're, you know, punk rock, reggae, ska, kinda hip hop.
They're a lot of things m- mixed into one, you know what I mean? Um, but definitely check out that album if you got the time, Until the Sun Explodes, yerrd.
She, she, she.
