Tony Moon sits down with Kangmin Lee to discuss what he witnessed during the 1992 Los Angeles riots, why Koreatown was forced to defend itself, the truth behind the “Rooftop Korean” legend, race relations in America, confronting Antifa, Korean American identity, and the lessons communities must learn when institutions fail.
The Kangmin Lee Show Ep. 4
Tony Moon is a Korean American author, political activist, martial arts instructor, and security consultant known online as “Rooftop Korean.” Born in West Germany and raised in Los Angeles, Moon was 19 when the 1992 riots reached Koreatown and he joined other Korean Americans protecting local businesses after law enforcement failed to respond. His new book, \*Rooftop Korean: A Memoir of the 1992 LA Riots\*, recounts his experience and explores self-defense, race, identity, and what communities owe one another when society breaks down.
