Fall Himalaya Coverage: Autumn Avalanches

Well, hey, I wanted to share a new thing that I saw in the last couple of weeks for my news this week.

You know, the Adventure Addicts are a couple content creators based in South Lake Tahoe that I got to go to Ecuador with a bunch of their friends.

And I recently saw they have a new business.

And so their business is called The Gear Project, and it's an online consignment shop.

And, you know, I think it's an interesting one in that there are a lot of ways to sell gear or to buy used gear.

But they're often really centralized in these mountain towns.

And these sports that we talk about extensively are expensive.

Whether you're climbing, skiing, mountain biking, river sports, the barrier to entry is massive.

You really can't do these sports without thousands of dollars of initial investment if you're buying used.

And it's even more if you're buying new.

And consignment shops are a great way to find used gear.

but they're often in mountain towns.

If you live in a city, if you live in these non kind of centralized mountain sport environments, it's much harder to get access to used gear.

And so the Gear Project, thegearproject.com is their new business venture.

And it's an online consignment shop, similar to Poshmark, but Poshmark is obviously for fashion, clothes, et cetera.

And this is centralized around gear.

So you can buy used gear on this website.

You can sell used gear on this website.

And I think it's just in the infancy of beginning.

It's a couple weeks old.

There's definitely a limited amount of gear on the website right now.

I took a little look through it last night.

But I'm just excited because I think it's a great way to increase access to these sports that we talk about, that we love, and have a way to circulate gear.
