You know, Walt Kelly's famous cartoon character, Pogo, once said, we've met the enemy and he is us.
Hmm.

The same might be said for Trump supporters and Republicans as we close in on the midterm elections.

A study by Pew Research, the best nonpartisan survey effort, documented the huge disparity between Democratic and Republican enthusiasm and intention of voting.

Pew found Democratic candidates abhorred by the supporters' relatively high-level engagement and stated motivation to vote when compared to those who are backing the Republican candidate.

Democratic enthusiasm for voting this year was eight points higher than Republican.

With paper-thin margins separating both Senate and House candidates, the GOP cannot prevail unless its voters understand the stakes in this election and vote in larger numbers than the polling predicts.

We're also registering a small lead over the communist jihadists in Michigan, El Saeed.

The GOP is narrowly trailing, narrowly trailing, in protecting Republican seats in Alaska, Maine, and Ohio.

Only in Michigan and perhaps in Minnesota do Republicans have a good shot at taking away Democratic seats.

Why the lack of Republican enthusiasm and what to do about it? GOP voters have taken enormous progress America has made under Trump for granted and don't fully realize how dramatically far worse things would be if the Democrats win.

Do you want to see how the economy fares if the Democrats are able to lay on high new taxes? Do we want to go back to open borders and let another 25 million illegal immigrants into America? Do we realize that because of Trump's deportations, the crime rate and drug overdose death rates are at century-long lows? Are we willing to see hardened criminals and drug dealers ply their trade while those arrested are released without bail?

Are we prepared to drown the Medicare trust fund in a series? See if illegal benefits for illegal aliens collecting benefits? Of course not.

Republican voters must realize the truth of what Benjamin Franklin told a fellow patriot when she asked what form of government he had designed for the nation.

You know, all the people that say my vote doesn't count, like in New York City, Manhattan, and maybe upstate with Hochul.

If all the people that say my vote doesn't count comes out and votes, just like with this Mandami
