Robbie MinnichGuestIt's the end of October in an election year, which means election day is just next week, actually just four days from now as we record.
And number two is, of course, the Buying American Cotton Act, which has been in sort of back on the back burner, backroom consideration there on Capitol Hill for over a year.
BACA is of particular interest to me because one thing that we've been touting here in our corner of the ag media universe is the number of co-sponsors BACA has been racking up, particularly over recent months.
So my question becomes, okay, How many of those co-sponsors are we at risk of losing next week? And what is our contingency plan to replace them? Just a table set, just so you know what's in front of us as we gear into election week, as we round into election week.
I suspect many of you are well aware of this stuff, but for my purposes, I had to Google.
So I was not aware all 435 seats in the House of Representatives are being contested next week.
Those are only two-year terms, and they are up to be contested at every midterm and presidential election year.
Of those, eight are BACA co-sponsors, and then there's Senator Hyde-Smith from Mississippi, the original sponsor, who is also up for reelection.
