Obedience Over Ease w/ Heidi Gray McGill

Honey, I want, you know...

I think we were talking even before we started recording.

I do believe everyone's got a story, one we can learn from and those kind of things.

Maybe there's somebody who's listening who's like, you know, I do feel, I kind of feel like I should get my story out there through the book format.

How would, I mean, how do you start, you know? Oh, Corey, I love this question.

How would you encourage people to start?

All right.

First of all, you just have to write it.

It does not have to be perfect, but you do have to write it.

And so no matter how difficult it is, I was not a journaler to start with.

And so that habit of writing every day and having those stories did not come naturally to me.

So it was a discipline that I had to learn.

If I am not sitting in my chair, getting words on the page, I cannot share Jesus.

And so daily obedience makes the end result happen.

And I have to get that book out.

That is the goal, sharing Jesus.

The only way they're going to read it is if it's out.

So the beauty of Amazon and publishing through Amazon is they make it very easy and most of it is honestly free.

That doesn't mean that it's not easy to format.

That's a challenge for me.

But they provide a software that you can format your book or you could also format it in Word, especially if you have Word 11, it really helps.

But you're going to get your book up.

And you are going to get it written, and then you're going to run it through a program like Grammarly or ProWritingAid and get those things out of there.

And then if you're ready, if you feel like this is, I've been obedient enough, I don't care if I make $100, I just need to be obedient, then you're going to upload it to Amazon with a cover and information about it, and it's there.

Now, it's going to rank at $12 million if you don't have anybody buy it.
