So it's a very common talking point that people are, you know, mentioning a lot these days about how YouTube is going to TV.

But myself and my team wanted to actually dig into what the data shows about how drastic this shift actually has been.

So this is a, a really interesting graph where we looked at some of our biggest clients, and this is millions worth of view data.

And we noticed this really crazy shift, um, around 2023, where you see for the first time TV starts to lead with our clients as the biggest device type they have, um, for their viewership.

If you kind of look back to 2021 and where it is now, I almost sort of find it hard to, like, even imagine how quickly viewership behavior has changed over these years.

Like, to go from, what's that, twenty-three, twenty-four percent in 2021 to now being over fifty percent of our clients', uh, viewership is pretty wild.
Yeah, so I think most creators we talk to now say somewhere between forty and fifty percent of their viewership comes from television.
So th- this is, like, a major talking point for YouTube because it really helps attract advertisers, right? There's still a lot of money spent on television advertising.

So I think about two or three years ago, people started to realize that long videos were performing better, and you start to see this shift.

I mean, like, we can actually just go and, and look at one of the graphs I have here real quick.

So this is from a hundred billion views worth of data, and we can see the, the mean and the median there increasing.
