Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley Preview | #1

But before we do that and look ahead to this week, let's look at this past weekend.

We want to have a little chat, Barry, about the new WBA lightweight champion, Kid Austin.

Floyd Schofield picks up the title with a unanimous decision win over Lucas Body in a very good fight.

Yeah, it was.

Very entertaining scrap for the WBA 135-pound title.

It was a good scrap.

I, 'cause I thought it was gonna be a relatively easy night.

I mean, not an easy night, 'cause I thought, you know, you got the skills to beat Body, uh, quite comfortable, I would've thought.

It wasn't comfortable, I don't think.

Certainly late in the, the back stretch it wasn't.

But- Again, with Schofield, he's really- offensively he's really good, but he's lax defensively.

And also actually when he is- when he does go forward, his chin's in the air.

He jumps into his attacks, so it speeds everything for him, and that's how he get at- and that's how he, he surprises you with attacks.

But also he can make mistakes, and against a puncher like Baddy, he almost came unstuck a few times.

And, but he got over the line.

He's a young kid.

He got over the line.

You know, he's a world champion now.

That gives him loads of, um, loads of options and it's still an attractive weight.

I think a couple of people might be moving around, but it's still a really good weight to be at.

S- and still searching...

I mean, let's say Stevenson's gone.

Still searching for its kingpin.

So I think, you know, he's, he's not it I don't think yet, but it was a good win for him against a g- a guy who's, I'm not quite sure he's top tier, Baddy, but he can punch.

And surprised me how good he was, to be fair, especially down the stretch.
