Barry Jones

I'm your host, Rob Tebbutt.

And as always, I am joined by the usual twosome, the former WBO super featherweight champion of the world turned legendary broadcaster, Mr. Barry Jones, and legendary broadcaster turned esteemed author, Mr. Andy Clarke.

We're back to review this past weekend's boxing, and look ahead to this weekend.

Let's do it.

... on one of the, on one of the shows that we did, the, the, when we were talking about one of the many times that this was on the cards and potentially gonna happen.

You're one of the first people who, who put Cardiff out there.

So I think Barry Jones is the promoter of the fight.

No, no, actually, [laughs] yeah.

I'm Stacey Copeland and this is 5 Live Boxing.

And joining me, the best possible duo to guide us through it all in Steve Bunce and former WBO super featherweight world champion, Barry Jones, who between them combined almost make a modern day heavyweight, but perhaps not quite.

I'm happy with that.

You should be, you should be happier than Barry.

Well, hello and a warm welcome to Ringside Toe-to-Toe, a boxing podcast and now vodcast exclusive to Sky Sports.

I'm Andy Scott and this week I'm joined by former world champion Barry Jones.

Hello, Barry.

Drop, John Hedges twice with perfectly placed little left uppercuts underneath the right elbow in whatever it was, the sixth round.

Fantastic, clean finish.

body, but before he got there, John Paxton was out, night work, you know what I mean, he had to go through, but that's endeared him to the crowd, that he could fight through, and still win, and

that's what made him become the fighter, and Pat's got that to come, now Barry, listen, we can't leave here tonight, without just having a little word, about Darren Barker, now I caught up with Darren, to find out exactly what he's been on, that mission, that trip he's been on, Now, it seems like several years ago that Darren Barker went with a bike and a pair of swimming trunks up to Edinburgh to just make his way casually from Edinburgh to North Africa.

Now, all of us in the boxing business, Barry Jones was there and the rest of us that work with Darren week in, week out, we're just...

Knew it was happening, but it didn't dawn on us until it started to happen that he was going to be cycling, then swimming across the channel, then swimming from Gibraltar into North Africa.
