So yeah, you, um, you might remember anything about model land if you listened to that episode, but just in case, um, because it is very overwhelming, um, I'll do a quick rundown.
Model Land, the book, was a YA fantasy published in 2011 that was slated to be a trilogy, but it actually, the first book went out of print before it was ever even released in paperback.
Like...
many young adult books of that period.
Uh, it revolved around a special, you know, some special girls being chosen to go to a special school to learn super modeling.
Um, and the super modeling that they learned was like also magic.
Um, so, you know, very typical kind of like special boarding school for special kids.
Um, and there in, in the world building in this book is, uh, Unbelievable.
There was an instructor who was very clearly Jay Manuel from America's Next Top Model, except his head was a giant hand.
And the time in this world is told in colors.
Their dorm room bedspreads have moving images of their faces on them, but also the beds are invisible sometimes.
Yeah.
Doctors and nurses had actual roller skates for feet.
And the main character kept accidentally sucking on the thumb of the guy she was in love with.
And she would literally orgasm from him touching her arm.
So, like, everything about it is wild.
There was so much.
There was, like, what were the evil lizard people? Oh, right.
Yeah.
Something with
that.
There was something where I think their class schedule, you had to like squirt some perfume and then the perfume would like turn into paper, I believe, something like that.
Yes.
Yes.
