Sherrod Blakely and Gary Washburn react to what they have seen from the Summer League Celtics in Las Vegas. They give thoughts on Hugo Gonzalez, John Tonje, and the Celtics’ rookies. Can Gonzalez make…
They've, uh, first three games, they've won two of the first three, coming off a 2-1, uh, or excuse me, coming off a loss to Atlanta, which drops their record to 2-1.
The, the big story, I think i- if you're looking at big stories for the Celtics and the Summer League team is Hugo Salles.
Uh, he's the one guy that they, that's out there who's actually played some, who actually played for the Celtics last year.
So he's one of the few faces that even the most casual Celtics fan are probably familiar with.

Yeah, I think he's, um, there to just to be the kind of the number o- one of the number one guys, and I thought he did okay.
The same type of things that we've seen from him, uh, during his rookie season.
Um, but you know what? I wasn't, I'm not gonna, you know, ride him about his shot making.
Um, I'm just, you know, looking to, for him to be comfortable on the floor, play well against the best players on the Summer League team, the other Summer League team, and be one of the better players on the floor.
You know, when you look at guys in their second Summer League, what you wanna see is them to be the best player on the floor.
Like, they're playing against players that they should dominate most of the time, right? If you're a first-round pick, you're playing your second Summer League, you should look like you've been there before c- because you have.
