all right family welcome back to the show uh As I mentioned earlier, I'm honored to have on Colonel Matt Baker, who's an independent candidate running for Virginia's second congressional district.

Just want to let you know, I have reached out on multiple, multiple times to the Kiggins, Jane Kiggins team.

So, Just want to let you know, as of right now, we've had the Democratic nominee, former Congresswoman Elaine Luria on.

And now we have the opportunity to have one independent candidate, Matt Baker, on.

So without further ado, let's go ahead and bring on Colonel Baker to make his case on why he's running.

Sir, Colonel, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule.

Well, look, for those that are just now getting to know you and hearing you for the first time on, you know, for our audience, if you don't mind providing a brief, brief background about yourself and kind of what help led you to pursue and say, look, I want to practice what I preach.

And I want to take that leap of faith in and be the voice of the voiceless by running for Virginia's second congressional district.
My dad actually retired out of Fort Monroe here in Hampton Roads in 1970 and moved from there to the Canal Zone in Panama.
And I grew up in the Panama Canal Zone, graduated high school in 1982 and graduated.
So I went to a year of what I call real school at Rice University in Texas, reapplied, won an appointment that year to the class of 1987 at the Naval Academy.
So as you As you might imagine, there were some dim looks and my uncles all got together and they said, you know, we weren't sure, but your mom definitely dropped you.
