Email from Rich on the Washington Commanders franchise perhaps being cursed.

Writes Rich, Al, the longer the commanders go without winning a Super Bowl, the more the dysfunction and competence and injuries pile up.

I have started to wonder if there is something larger at play.

Could we be faced with a metaphysical conundrum? Are we dealing? with a curse.

Most sports curses have an understood cause.

In Boston, it was the curse of the Bambino.

What could be our curse's origin? It has always irritated me how Maryland fans summarily dismissed the commanders potentially moving to Virginia.

The fans argued that Virginia is not in D.C.

Lest we forget, Prince George's County is not located in the district.

Could this be the cause of the curse? Could moving out of D.C.

have started it? this process.

The Redskins moved to FedEx Field in 1997.

We have had a disastrous comedy of error since.

Will moving back to the hallowed grounds of the former RFK Stadium lift this curse and allow us back to the promised land? I don't know what we call this.

The RFK curse? The PG County curse? The Jack Kent Cook curse? I'm open to ideas here.

I'm curious what your take is on this and other sports curses.

You know, generally speaking, I do not believe in curses.

Remember, we had the D.C. sports curse.

And then what happened? The Washington Capitals won the 2018 Stanley Cup title.

The Washington Nationals won the 2019 World Series title.

So much for the D.C. sports curse.

You never hear about the D.C. sports curse anymore now, do you? Now, the thing about a curse for the Washington Commanders franchise and look, things have been so bad.
