Should Christians be active in politics? In this message from El Paso, Pastor Paul Stephens explains why he believes prayer, informed voting, and public engagement matter for followers of Jesus…

They just had to accept whoever was in the hereditary line or whoever overthrew the current form of government, etc., There was no, virtually no voting.

Troy had somewhat of a republic, but for the most part, there was no voting in the ancient world.

And yet Paul is saying, I want you to pray for those that are in authority and in leadership.

I guess we're not going to see it, but he's the one that said, the only thing necessary, there he is, for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

He got elected to parliament, and he did a lot of writing and wielded a lot of influence, and that was his take.

Evil prevails because good people are idle or apathetic or lackadaisical, or they just don't care enough to do something.

And he said, bad men need nothing more to accomplish their ends than that good men should look on and do nothing.

I'm assuming that all of us can Because of our Christianity and the fact that we've been forgiven, we're not perfect.
