Genesis 22 and verse 1, it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham.
God tests you because he wants to promote you, to bring you into more of what he sees for you.
James chapter 1 tells us that, you know, when you are tempted, it's not from God.
God does not tempt, right? The devil tempts you because he wants to make you fail or to make you fall.
You know, when your teacher is testing you and they're trying to say, this is what I'm trying to get.
Can you do this? Where are you with this? Here's what every God test is really looking for.
God is always asking, where is your heart at? Where is your heart at? That that's the highlight that's the point um of every um god test because god deals with us at a heart level and so in acts chapter 8 in a moment i'm going to start talking to you about this money conversation but in acts chapter 8 we have a story of a guy you know the disciple that just preached and in samaria there was a guy called simon the sorcerer you probably know the story um but eventually when he tried to buy the gift of god with his money and all it was 20 peter responds to him and he's telling him your money perished with you because you thought you could um that the gift of God could be purchased with money.
In other words, what he was doing, what he was trying to do with his money, all right, what we're seeing is what he's doing with his money.
Peter says, you have neither part nor portion in this matter because your heart is not right.
It's the heart, okay? And so what we're seeing today is that God is going to drill us um in the things that we have maybe you're here today and you say well why are we talking about money money churches money like i don't like talking about money i brought my friend to church today don't talk about money well we will sorry they're already here but maybe you say money money money and all of that why why do you talk about money why there's so much noise about money apart from the fact that you think about it every hour but you don't like us talking about it so let's talk about that but why why do we talk about money and that's really what i'm asking for a topic this morning why do money matters matter why do money uh matters Martha, and what we're going to see together today is, I'm hoping that the Holy Spirit would help us to see money rightly, right? Then that we would live in a proper posture of worship and of ambition in this cardinal era of money.
