SUNDAY CONVERSATION | Can Fresno Unified change the negative narrative? They're trying

Yes, it's been a heavy week, right? 25 years later, the sad reality of why now 9-11, for a third of our nation, is just a date we circle on our calendars.

But we begin with this.

A turbulent start to a new school year for the third largest school district in the state.

Fresno Unified, yeah, we've heard a lot about them, right? We've seen a lot of the headlines.

They've been scrutinized in the media on these very airwaves here at KMJ as well.

National publications, from multiple high-profile lawsuits to the financial fiasco to field trips, toxic relationship between the union and district administration.

It seems, is the district really in crisis here? I think that's what people want to know.

So we've seen a lot of this in the headlines.

But today, I want to make sure that we get the other side of the story.

And listen, I expected to have a really in-depth, exclusive interview with Superintendent Misty Herr.

uh following the public apology while also announcing the district's going to restore k through six field trips for the immediate future but she is under the weather so we hope that she gets better very soon we're going to reschedule that interview or conversation as i like to say for another time but in her place today We have a couple of stalwarts for Fresno Unified.
