Thorin and YamatoCannon are joined by Keire from Hot Take Point Made for a full Worlds 2026 team-by-team preview, starting with why Cloud9 could not get out of the play-in stage and ending with three…
so i think the obvious place to start this one gentlemen is we've obviously done the plane now here's the thing i don't want to make this all about cloud nine at the plane because spoiler you can just watch power spike for that that's basically what happened on that show that was what i was all about so we will do a little bit about that but let's just do the plane in general so actually kira since obviously you are the guest who was on the other episodes I want to know this.
Coming in, did you have the classic EU bias? Did you just expect KC to be the one that was the winner of the play? And did you think it would be closer with Cloud9? What were your thoughts in that regard? I mean, look, technically it was close, but yeah.
What do you think?
Yeah, so I just thought I was really surprised how close it was with...
And it was actually one of those rare ones where I think C9 had probably the overall best player in that individual series.
And I think a lot of the good to great parts of KC kind of just got by on a little bit more cohesion.
KC probably just made slightly better decisions later into the game.
I don't think Kana, Yike... um or uh clif were like particularly inspiring um but beyond that like series i actually expected them i was surprised how close that one was and then i basically every other series was basically how i thought it was going to be um where they were going to just like walk um a the plans i think uh people really don't evaluate the strengths of KC particularly well.
which I think is a bit like short-sighted.
I think a lot of the teams here really struggled to match up against KC and anyway.
So I was really surprised C9 went as deep as you did.
I think a lot of that was like individual form on the day.
I think you actually kind of seen the other skew on that in terms of like when C9 went into the losers bracket and they lost to FURIA.
Yeah, okay.
What about, Yamato, as I say, people can just go watch the Power Spike episode.
It was basically largely about that topic.
But what would your basic overview be of, like, why did C9 not emerge from this plane?
I think on our side, um...
We play better than what we showed for sure.
That's been like the trend for us for the last couple of series that we played.
It's like every series is lost in a very tragic way.
Whether it's the TL1 in the Caitlyn game when we are so far ahead in game four and we just don't close out.
And, um, now when it comes to the Casey series, it's like the, the, the conversation is always like this, this series should have been a four zero.
