I'm back in a similar spot that I came and visited in, I'm not sure, 2022 possibly.

I was here with Mark Strong and Adam Bronkhorst, but now I'm with Chris Todd from Transport Action Network, soon to be X Transport Action Network.

And we're looking at a brand new section of cycle route, two-way cycle route, which is going through St. Peter's Square.
It comes from St Peter's Church, and this is down through the Old Steen, so it's past the War Memorial, and then through the Old Steen to connect to the seafront.
So the first time we'll have the seafront cyclists be able to connect, or people on the seafront be able to connect into the city and up to the universities, to the shops, and up London Road as well.

nice and um as the name would suggest this is a major connecting route north and then down to the seafront and what used to be uh the sort of joint between the london road and the seafront road was a horrible roundabout which was just purgatory for all involved i think but now they've put some cycle routes and some crossings and there's all sorts of two-way bike routes coming off in all directions and the one going north is still under construction But there's a great big plaza now with some new trees which are just about hanging on in this heat wave.

We're investigating that today, basically, aren't we? And there's a bit of a missing link.

And this is an ongoing project of yours that you're interested in, which is slowly coming together, I think.
Yeah, I mean, actually with the work that's been done here right in the heart of them, people from Brighton and Hove, from the seafront, will be able to cycle potentially all the way through to Polegate and then on the Cuckoo Trail up to Hailsham and Heathfield on virtually continuous protected or separated cycle facilities.
And from that, people in Brighton and Hove will be able to actually access the national park.
Yeah, so, I mean, they do at Falmer and with Stanmore Park anyway, but going beyond, they can go to places like the Seven Sisters, the Cookmere Valley, etc., on protected cycle facilities until the last sections where they're on sort of hopefully quieter country lanes.

Yeah, and the Seven Sisters are the cliffs, aren't they? They're the famous chalky cliffs.
