So, I mean, all I can say is, you know, for all of those women here have been subject to historical sexual abuse in the past and who are questioning whether or not to come forward.
You can be Geoffrey Donaldson, MP, Privy Councillor, but if you go in front of a jury, you're just like, you know, as if you'd have been a man, everyone's the same.
And that is, and that is hopefully, uh, if there's a legacy from this case that is positive, hopefully it is, it is that, that, uh, they, cause it could, because I know Alison, you've spoken about this before.
It's about, you know, whenever people come forward, it's, will I be believed? Will I be, and because, because it's very hard to get convictions in these type of cases, the conviction rates are very, very, very low.
Um, it, for a variety of different reasons, but obviously this will send a message and hopefully we do see more people come forward as a result of this just more generally.
You know, Anaxis put out a statement today and one of the complaints in this case, one of the victims had said she'd went to Anaxis for counselling.
But I also do think, and I don't think that, you know, we criticise people politically.
And I do think that the statement given by Gavin Robinson today, which I was listening to on the radio on the way home from Newry, It left no room.
He just came out and said, thinking of the victims, disgraceful, disgusting, horrible acts described.
And I know that there's probably only one way he could have run this, but I think that what he did, a lot of victims at the list, and particularly the two victims in this case, I hope that they were reassured by what he said and that this man wasn't still going to be given political cover.
