The Steelers Next Move Could Surprise EVERYONE... | Daily Steelers News & Rumors

Welcome to another episode of Steelers Latest with your host Jason Nazario aka J Reels as we are that much closer to the start of the NFL season and I understand it begins in Seattle as well as down under with the 49ers and Rams but we all know Sunday one o'clock that's when the season begins and that's where it'll begin for the Steelers with a host of Falcons as you see there on the right of your screen where we talked about yesterday how the Falcons have weapons on offense and even though Tua Tagovailoa is the quarterback and you may think ah we should be able to push him around we should be able to get to him but they do have some skilled position players and obviously the running back is a beast and the one Bijan Robinson but now I want to flip the table here a little bit to talk about what the Steeler offense could do against that Falcon defense and we know that is an Achilles heel they have one guy that's out for the year in Jalen Walker who's on IR another guy was suspended for the first eight games of the year in James Pierce and they had to bring in a guy like Zedarius Smith who's been around forever but to have some semblance of the pass rush to get to a quarterback.

And this Falcon defense is certainly going to be, let's just say, probably at the bottom of the league when it's all said and done.

And this is where I think the Steeler offense could certainly take a lot of advantage against the front three, because they do play a 3-4.

Now, the secondary is pretty good, led by A.J. Terrell, the number one picker many years ago, and also Jesse Bates, who is familiar with the Steelers when He used to play in the AFC North when he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

So secondary actually is pretty good.

And I'm sure they're going to do whatever it takes to try to slow down DK Metcalf as well as Michael Pittman, especially the guys there on the outside.

But when it comes to this Steeler offense, just trying to take advantage of that ailing defense.

listen they had the personnel to do it they certainly have the weapons and the skill position players in their own right that could certainly unpack and unravel this falcon defense and we know that this is going to be a game where as i like to say a rocking chair 27 13 or 30 to 14 type of game now i'm not predicting that you'll hear my prediction in a couple of days but when it comes to This offense, and again, I'm not trying to make the Steeler offense be a juggernaut.

We've talked about this pretty much since the beginning of training camp.

And if you haven't watched any of the previous episodes where I went in great detail about every position or really every unit when it comes to the quarterbacks, the running backs, the wide receivers, the offensive line, etc.

I think the Steelers will have a lot of success against this Falcon defense and we all know the offensive line which I'll talk about in a little bit is a not even key and to me I think it's critical for the Steelers success and that goes for all units offense defense or special teams so from where I see my vantage point I think that this Steeler offense could certainly expose them big time and I'm not even talking about the return game or special teams or anything like that we're just talking strictly offense going up against that defense listen i'm not going to sit here to say if they don't score 30 points i'm going to be shocked but let's face it they should be able to put up some points and i would hope early and often against that falcon defense knowing that yeah they're going to want to try to show improve for their head coach kevin stefanski who's going to be manning the sidelines for the first time there and we all know stefanski from his days in cleveland so he's very familiar with the Steeler team, organization, etc.

But how I see it, the Steelers should pretty much have their way.

I don't want to go all out to say, oh, they're going to have their way with them up and down the field, etc.

No, I won't go as far as saying that, but I think that they'll be very opportunistic.

They'll have a lot of chances, and I'm sure they will end up breaking that falcon defense to the point where they should be able to outslug and even outscore them for their victory in game one now did i already tip my hand to give you my prediction maybe but that's what you have to tune back in maybe the next couple days to find out for yourself as i chronicle their first game against the falcons and preview it as well Now, the second thing I want to talk about is the ground game, because I think if this offense is going to have any success, the ground game is going to be, I don't want to go as far as saying enormous, but it's going to be key, especially in this first game.
