We’re joined once again by Smalps, as we break down our experience at BlizzCon from touring Blizzard HQ and meeting members of the Diablo community, to the surprising lack of D2R news and the…
and and i apologize i managed to pick up some kind of sickness while i was in california please bear with me on that um and this conversation is probably gonna meander around a lot hopefully we're able to touch on everything i would like to start the conversation with the the friday The day before BlizzCon, we were lucky enough to have a previous guest of the show, Jordan Powers.
Crude and his son were also with us as well.
And I didn't really have any expectation of or know what to expect, but it was a really cool tour.
Really grateful to Jordan for giving us that opportunity.
Unfortunately, while we were there, we found out that the Diablo team had been moved to a different group of buildings, not in the main headquarters.
So that was interesting.
I think they replaced the room that they were in with...
I think they put hearthstone there the hearthstone team so we weren't able to talk to anyone and and Jordan did say that he tried to get us in there and it just wasn't possible but um you know it was really awesome to to meet jordan um you know we we talk quite often um and uh it was really nice to meet him in person he did he gave us a wonderful tour and uh you know just the sheer amount of i would say uh care and and emotion and uh Just like, you can really tell that the people there care as much about the games that they work on as the people
who play them.
And, you know, the place is just filled with artwork all over the place from all the games.
It was really cool.
I don't want to gush about it too much, but it was it was like one of the highlights of the weekend for me.

You know, that kind of shows you how old I am.
And with a very few exceptions, almost every game I've played since has been a Blizzard game.
And it's not that I'm swearing off of other studios games, but when I ventured out into playing, say, Skyrim, for example, which, you know, is a really solid game or Baldur's Gate, which is also really good.
What I find is that it lacks something that makes me as comfortable as a Blizzard game.
there's something about blizzard games for me personally that just strike a chord of yes this is where i'm supposed to be uh whether it's the ui or the the thematic elements or whatever you want to call it for me blizzard makes games that i want really want to play and uh you know uh i had said this in our in our chat quite a while ago My son and I do not lack for bonding moments.
There's no escaping that.
