Bible Reading: Psalm 119:1-48

good morning and welcome to the oasis of praise as our journey takes us really to the heart of our study of the word of god as we come to psalm 119 verse 16 i will delight myself in your statutes i will not forget your word psalm 119 really is the heart of our journey because it's all about the word of god this entire this entire chapter, which is not only the longest Psalm, but it is the longest chapter in the entire Bible.

It's 176 verses.

It's longer than many books in the Bible.

And it really does encapsulate the purpose and the need for stand on the word for our journey through the word of God.

Because as the Psalmist writes in verse 105, your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Now, We may not capture that in this age of streetlights and lights all around us.

Rarely are we in a dark place.

But if you've ever walked through a dark, unknown room or a dark building, or you've been out in the woods at night when it's dark, You know what? A light really helps.

I would add that if you're out in the woods, a compass would help too.

But both are helpful and both reflect the Word of God.

The Word of God is a light to our path, but it's also a compass.

It provides direction to us.
