well uh if you asked me at the time i would have said i'm good i'm spiritual but the truth is i was uh still searching and i was lost and i was in between two worlds the material world and the spiritual world and uh new york as you may imagine is very much like london where you could easily get into the trappings of the material realm.

And so a major part of me was there, and I didn't know how to unattach from that, or even if I needed to.

Because when you're hungry in some way, either your body, your emotions, your mind, your soul, it will become the thing at the forefront, you know.

So one of my brother-in-laws, he has a saying that it's an Urdu saying from Pakistan, which is which translates roughly into when you're hungry in the stomach, it's hard to smile.

Point being that when your mind, body, or your soul, your heart needs something, and it's something that has been basically bottled up for months or years, and it's just coming to a precipice, There has to be something that takes place.

And sometimes we ourselves don't have the courage to make that change or don't know how to.

And life does something and just catapults us into a direction that we can't even imagine.

But as I said earlier, it's coming together in the most magical ways that only God's grace knows best.

And I guess that was also part of my learning and bringing me to where I'm at now.

Because now when I see younger folks, especially younger men, I just see a younger version of myself.
