In England in the 1980s, a new haunted object exploded onto the occult scene. This was a painting of a crying boy, a painting allegedly possessing such a dark and powerful energy that it was…
We are slaying monsters.
I didn't read it, but I saw it at the checkout line.
OK.
Exactly.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Do I remember it? Absolutely.
Did I read it? No.
I mean, I read it while I was standing in line with my mom in the grocery store.
I definitely remember begging my parents to buy me copies of it occasionally because it had, I don't know, Loch Ness Monster captured.
They did that a lot.
which really put them on the map, but...
Weekly
World News was your teen beat.
It kind of was, actually.
I loved it because I was so into all of the cryptids and paranormal stuff.
When you had aliens abducted my grandmother and she taught them how to make cookies or whatever, I was like, oh my God, this is really cool.
I thought it was real and my parents actually had to sit me down and be like, this is not news.

Sorry, I said that.
That's not a thing.

Yep.
And that's kind of why we need things like journalistic integrity and we need sources that you can rely on and be like, okay, we trust this, but we don't trust the weekly world news to tell us what's going on in the White House, right?
Right.
And to quote Zach Bagans, that is why we are here.
we are slaying monsters
