And we've had a number of Silver Lining for Learning episodes that are about Iran, about Afghanistan, about other Mideastern countries, particularly about young women.

those situations and if you're as a listener if you're interested you should take a look at the silver lining for learning website but um thanks to all three of you um compared to when i was in school which was a long time ago uh the ecosystem now of educational alternatives for children and young people is very rich.

And there are schools that are more career focused and schools that are more academically focused.

And interestingly enough, a couple hundred years ago, the biggest niche was small schools because the country of the United States was rural.

And there were all these one room school houses with a single teacher and all 12 grades in the classroom.

And now, That isolation because of digital advances doesn't really exist in the same way.

So I'm interested in each of you talking about your niche in this ecosystem and what might be the reasons that a parent or a student would say, I've looked at all the niches and this is the one that's right for me.

Yeah, the thing that parents are looking for right now more than ever are connection, mattering.

uh and safety uh there's there's no virtually no violence in schools of you know less than 100 or so uh and nothing and but and emotional safety as well so that's what we're looking for and the real question that is going to come out because of technology that you mentioned chris is can these small schools offer the programs and the depth of instruction.

And we mistake, just like we mistake size for the strength of an organization, we also mistake the number of programs that schools have.

And so what we're hoping is that AI and the emerging technology is gonna come out are gonna be, have a distributive effect.

so that everybody has access to geniuses and the best listeners in the world which can be provided to us through technology in order to free up our schools so that the teachers can connect through relationship building.

Almost as though the most important thing that can be happening in these small schools doesn't have to be in the classroom.

If you want to study amazing teachers, watch the way they interact all day long, watch the following they have with kids, watch the mentoring that's building up, and we can all study the skills together, and we can study the content together, like we did on the prairie.
