Matt LathamHostFor anyone not aware, Ghostwatch was a fictional, but portrayed as not fictional, BBC broadcast.
And it was part of the BBC Screen One, which was sort of like basically sort of plays and...
And it was basically portrayed as a sort of, a bit like Crime Watch... sort of like a programme where very well respected BBC presenters were investigating this haunting in a house in London and because they'd used very well respected BBC presenters A lot of people thought it was real at the time and it terrified a lot of people and has never been shown again and was only released on DVD sort of like 15 years later, something like that.
um carl you're the same age as me did you know about it or see at the time or anything
i did see it at the time but okay probably like a lot of people i hadn't watched it again for many many years and i did get the dvd when it came out yeah but for some but then i hadn't i think i only watched that once and then i didn't watch it again until getting ready for this
um and there's bits of it that i realize now that i've actually made up in my head happened um especially the ending right um that in my head i was like well that's not how i remember it ending at all um But it's been fascinating to watch it again.
So a few years later, basically they wouldn't let me watch horror films or anything like that until I got to high school and immediately got Silence of the Lambs and Carrie out of the school library.
And it was like, well, if you're going to read the book, you may as well watch the films.
This would freak her out, but at the same time, I don't think she would understand the concept of it because she doesn't understand live TV anyway because she only watches streaming.
