Pastor Rick Cloherty - "The Lens of Faith" - 2 August 2026

Faith is given to us by God.

Hebrews 12.2 says this, Romans 12.3 says that God has given us a measure of faith.

Ephesians 2.8-9, And this is not your own doing, it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.

Paul states in Philippians 1.6, I am certain, he didn't say I'm not sure, I'm certain that God who began a good work within you will continue his work until he's finally finished on the day when Jesus Christ returns.

There's an expectation from God for us to steward and grow what he's given us in faith.

He will finish the good work that he began.

But we can't sit around waiting for him to finish the good work.

Faith works both ways.

We are given it, but we have to step into it, towards it, and believe it in obedience.

God fulfills his promises.

I want you to capture this.

God fulfills his promises, but not your potential.

You can only do that.

If God has a promise over your life that you've felt that he's dropped in your spirit, he will fulfill it.

But it needs your potential.

It needs you to move.

Only you can do that part.

You think of Moses.

He didn't see his promise come to fruition.

There's so many people in the Bible that didn't see their promises.

It's like the Bible of Moses.

There's a graveyard in here of people that didn't see what their calling was.

Maybe they didn't step into their full potential.

But I just want to say to us today, only you can do your potential part.

The promises are there.
