Kevin Stickl - "Come Follow Me" - 16 August 2026

Now, this is the cool thing I was pondering about, this action of faith.

And Jesus called these guys, and he said this, come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Guys, what's that mean for us today? Good question, right? What's that mean for...guys, what does that mean for you and I? Is that cool? The Lord that doesn't change, yeah? Yeah.

Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

And I was pondering that statement, and I was thinking about four particular areas with that statement.

And the first one I was thinking about was all around the come.

It was this invite.

Isn't it amazing? Invite, well, in fact, the scripture's full of invites.

God to John, come up here, right, in Revelations.

God to Ezekiel with the angel, come a little deeper, right? And a lot of invites, right? The disciples, come follow me, right? And he doesn't change.

You know, I was thinking about an invite.

Invites are great.

Yeah? We went to a wedding, and Rick said, do you want a lift? And he invited me, and we had fellowship, you know? I'm going for lunch with close family friends today, with Joel and Jay Janssens, and we're going to go enjoy lunch today.

And they invited us to come over, and I'm like, yeah, I would love to go, you know? And invites are amazing because basically there's an extension that says, we'd love to have you.

You're welcome.

I want you there.

There's inclusion.

And it's quite an amazing thing.

Sometimes in life, there could be negative invites.

You know, of course, when you're a young fella, you know, you got to weigh up your choices and decisions, obviously.

I was thinking of even Goliath and David, man.

At first, the intentionality of that guy's invite towards David probably wasn't a kind one, was it? Come on, man.

Get up here.

Praise God.

He had the lens of faith that David did.
