If you have been following along with us in our gospel according to Matthew, we began in our last episode with reading chapter 18, and we noted that this was the fourth discourse of Jesus and and noted that Matthew had arranged his gospel in these five discourses of Jesus to mimic the Pentateuch, or the first five books of the Bible written by Moses, and that has the topology of presenting Jesus as this new Moses, the lawgiver.
