Vision Sunday Pt 2

Here's what I observed, probably from a frail perspective.

It was obvious to me some people seemed apathetic to Jesus' presence.

You know what apathy is.

Apathy is like,

oh,

okay.

Others appeared a bit cold or distant from him.

I think lots of us are distracted in this culture.

Others seemed, at least on the outside, quite excited that Jesus was in the room.

Some were a bit overwhelmed.

Some were obviously emotional.

Others, maybe I would describe it as deeply in love.

I think the vast majority of us were just okay with Jesus that morning.

And then some of us, the amazing thing about this church is week in and week out, there's so many people that are attending a community who are checking out Jesus.

So there was a bunch of people who don't know him at all.

apathetic, cold, distant, distracted, excited, overwhelmed, emotional, deeply in love, just okay.

Not sure.

Now the good news as I get going is this, that no matter our posture towards Jesus, for we who actually know him personally, there is a promise that's stronger than our reaction to him or our seasons.

I mean, Jesus' last words on earth were, I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.

Aren't you glad he said that? Yeah.

Now, we're starting another ministry year together.

As a church family, we're being prepared to send out.

Pastor Lucas and I last week talked about plan three.

All the site pastors gave unique vision to each location.

And as we get ready to do all this stuff that we've been talking about for two and a half plus years, and now we're here, I felt constrained to slow down a bit and just ask a simple question.
