I remember years ago when I was working in Ghana with Engineers Without Borders Canada, and we had a team that was also working in Malawi, and they worked in water and sanitation.

And so every single morning, these women would walk 30 minutes to the well and 30 minutes back.

Now, an outside organization came to this village and said, ah, we're going to fix your problem for you.

They could tell from maintenance and how the well looked that the women weren't using the well.

See, they thought it would be more convenient for them to have a well right in their village.

See, as they spoke with the women, the women said every morning they enjoyed this time together.
